Nitish may not visit Columbia Business School

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar, who has been invited by the Columbia Business School of the Columbia University to deliver a keynote address, ruled out the possibility of visiting the United States because of the pressing engagement and workload.

He said that it is not possible for him to visit Columbia University and deliver a lecture because there is plenty of work here as the budget session of the state Assembly is to start soon. The financial year closes on March 31 and attending any lecture on April 1 is not feasible.

A couple of years back Nitish did not go to meet Microsoft chief Bill Gates, when he was in Delhi and just had videoconferencing with him because of other important engagements in the state. Nitish has been invited to foreign countries in the past too. Similarly RJD chief Lalu Prasad, when he was the railway minister, was invited to deliver a lecture at MIT in Harvard University, Wharton Business School and IIM, Ahmedabad. He was asked to speak on the turnaround in the Indian Railways.

Though Nitish may not be able to visit the United States yet he was very grateful to the Unviersity for inviting him and giving him an opportunity to deliver a lecture on “The Urgency of Inclusive Growth and My Vision for Bihar” on the occasion of the 7th India Business Conference to be held in New York on April 1. The theme of the conference is India: An Honest Conversation.
