Bihar to introduce pension scheme for Panchayat teachers: CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar government would introduce pension scheme under the purview of ongoing mirco-pension scheme for milk producing farmers in the state.

Speaking at a function organized by the Social Welfare Department Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Saturday that his government would introduce pension scheme for panchayat teachers under the purview of the existing micro-pension scheme for milk producing farmers in Bihar.

He said that the milk producing farmers of the cooperative are liable for UTI micro-pension. However, because of lack of coordination between the state Human Resource Development official and UTI management, the micro-pension scheme for panchayat teachers was yet to be set in motion in Bihar.

Nitish assured that he would soon hold a meeting with the officials of both the sides and find out a solution. He said his government was committed to ensuring welfare of women and added that more than ten lakh girls had reaped the benefits of the Kanya Surksha Yojana in Bihar in the last three years.
