Nitish seeks Centre’s help for release of Bihari mariner from clutches of pirates

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday sought the intervention of the central government for the release of a Bihari mariner made hostage by Somalian pirates in North Arabian Sea.

He wrote a letter to the minister of external affairs S M Krishna, urging him to take all possible steps for the early release of mariner Kumar Prashant and the rest of the crew members on board MV Shinin. It was hijacked a week ago.
The chief minister wrote that Prashant abduction may demotivate many who might be thinking of a career in the merchant navy. A day before on Monday he had assured that the state government would surely take up the matter with the Union government.
