Patna,(BiharTimes): The vice chancellor of Jai Prakash Narayan University, Dinesh Prasad Sinha, on Friday got bail from the Chief Judicial Magistrate Gaya in the folk singer molestation case.

Earlier Sinha surrendered before the court of CJM, R N S Pande. He was wanted by the police in connection with a criminal case instituted against him at Bodh Gaya police station on the charge of misbehaviour with and molestation of Devi, a folk singer.

The alleged incident took place in Sambodhi Resort, Bodh Gaya, during a marriage party a few days back. The case was instituted on the basis of a complaint made by Devi.
Gaya SSP Vinay Kumar said chargesheet in the case would soon be submitted and the VC would be put to speedy trial. The Gaya police on Friday evening recorded the statement of the folk singer.
However, talking to the newsmen after getting bail the VC expressed full faith in judiciary and reiterated that he was not present in Bodh Gaya on that day, therefore, there is no question of misbehaving with the folk singer.
