Women’s take to streets, Rupan’s mother appeals to NCW, NHRC

Patna,(BiharTimes): A large number of women led by Madhavi Sarkar, widow of late CPI(M) MLA from Purnea, Ajit Sarkar, took to streets in Purnea in support of Rupam Pathak.

They raised slogans against the deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi for calling Rupam a blackmailer even before any probe has been done.

On the other hand Rupam Pathak’s mother arrived in Patna and appealed to the National Commission for Women and National Human Rights Commission in Patna and said that her daughter had been left with no option. “I am proud of my daughter,” the mother said. She also appealed for the CBI.

Meanwhile, Rupam, who was brought from the Katihar Medical College and Hospital, was produced before the court, which sent her to 14 years judicial custody.
