Rupam took extreme step when her daughter was harassed: Colleague

Patna,(BiharTimes): Ruma Pathak, the wife of editor of the English language newspaper of Purnea, Navlesh Pathak, has alleged that Rupam Pathak took the extreme step of killing the MLA only after some people started having an eye on her daughter and wanted to take her to Patna for some ‘high-level’ personality.

Rupan was under threat. Her house was attacked. She was warned that her son would be killed and daughter kidnapped. Rupan then shifted her children to their father, who is a teacher in Imphal in Manipur, Ruma told Sahara Samay, a premier television channel of Bihar.

Reacting to her husband’s arrest on Wednesday night Ruma Pathak, who is also a teacher in the school run by Rupam, feared that her husband’s life is in danger as police had forcibly taken him away.

Talking to Sahara Samay she further alleged that her husband knows much about the entire episode, therefore, she is afraid that something may happen to him. She said that, according to the information she had got, some powerful people are involved in this case.

It was Navlesh Pathak’s tabloid, Quisling, which first broke the story based on Rupan’s complaint last year. Later some other newspapers and TV channels also carried the story. Ruma said that her husband was initially hesitant to publish the story, but did so only after getting a written complaint from her. He published the version of others, including the MLA too, she added.

Reports also said that Navlesh’s arrest has angered the local population and they have also erected road blockades.

Meanwhile, a senior police officer was quoted in Hindustan Times as saying that Rupam is not a blackmailer as they have not found any evidence of blackmailing. However, the deputy chief minister. Sushil Kumar Modi, has repeatedly been insisting that she is a blackmailer.

Rupam has a doctorate degree in Hindi and was brought up in Imphal in Manipur, where her father was Professor in English. Her husband is also a teacher in Imphal.

In 2006 she opened a school in Purnea, which has about 800 children. She does not live with her in-laws.
It needs to be recalled that even after retracting from her earlier allegations Rupan filed another case in which she alleged that she had been pressurized to withdraw the case. The hearing was to take place on March 25, 2011.

Even after killing the BJP MLA she maintained before the police officials that she was sexually exploited.

Really its proud on behalf of Rupam, that atleast she has courage to do something for wrong doings, it also exposes the face of Corrupt Politicians, a milestone lesson for such evils, now these Corrupt people will at least think once before doing such deeds.
But I don’t understand the opinion made by Mr. Anil Kanhaiya, as if he is also trying to endorse the Sushil Modi’s statement, I just want to know from you Mr. Anil, is there any person who kill a person in public, even criminals not interested in doing so without any profit, but what this lady get out of this, she even crying for capital punishment for herself too, even police is keeping her chained due to fear of suicide, as she has no willingness to live. If you don’t have faith in her, then how you think that court will do the justice who till the date not able to provide the justice or protection to the victim and tortured continuously. I have little bit faith in the news that these evils was now eyeing to their daughter, which force her to take such hard decision, because even a prostitute don’t want her daughter to be in the same profession because she hate it.

So now there is new charge, I will more such charges will come to fore to garner sympathy. Fact is in this day and age of media no MLA/MP is stupid enough to harass people who have already come into media limelight through rape charges. This issue was already in media so only a retarded person would risk harassing the people.

Problem with us is we are more than willing to buy anything that comes from supposedly weaker person's mouth. I find this novel charges propping up every day as a tool to keep the media flame flying.

Let the court decide the truth of the matter only truth so far is in public domain is that the lady has murdered an elected representative.

Really awesome deed from the side of Bihar`s lady Rupam and one of the best warn and lesson to these elected (MLAs and MPs) who touches feet at the time of election and forget everything as soon as won. Neta babu please be cautious - "PUBLIC JAAG RAHI HAI AND SPECIALLY OUR BIHAR IS AWAKENING AT FASTER SPEED ..."

We all are aware how the majority of our politicians are so used to with busy in doing sins. They have lost the vision of life. They have accepted such things as harassing women or seeing others with dis-respect - this is all danawi pravirti. We all have good and evil within us but we respect others, give regards to others sanity and see every individual and especially women with respect because of our sanshkars and values that we learn from society and our family. Let us accept this fact the most of the politicians and their families have spoilt themselves and lost the value of their life - lost the very essence of their humanism. I praise the act of what Rupam did - this is a whistle blow against the rampant disorder in our society.

I'll simply say that we're very proud of what Rupam did; Also, I
apologies to her on the behalf of whole public for electing such
despicable filth and labeling them as ministers.

No one knows the truth except Mrs Rupam Pathak or slain MLA Keshri. When the social justice system fails this type of episodes happen. We should not pass our judgments without knowing the details. Mrs Pathak has taken the extreme step. This happens only when all the doors of justice are shut down irreversibly or the person is not in a sound mental health. This case should be probed well and justice be delivered as soon as possible. And, all ‘Bahuballis’ should make the cautious note that any one can be heavier on them, it is just the matter of time. After all you (MLAs and MPs) are our elected representative. We will love you if you respect us.

I am proud of you Rupam and would say “SHABBASH” to you. One can guess why a woman would take such an extreme step. One who does not get justice? Where the machinery of law and order is dead; Aise “LAFANGEY” aur “DABANGG” logon ka faisla public hi karegi. And the MLA Kesri deserved this chastisement. Well done Rupam.
