Why Bipin is still at large? ask women groups

Patna,(BiharTimes): As women groups are on warpath it remained a mystery as to why Bipin Rai, one of the two main accused in Rupam Pathak rape case has not yet been arrested. Instead the police, under pressure from above, arrested the journalist, Navlesh Pathak, simply because his newspaper published the story of the alleged rape of Rupam.

On April 18 last year Rupam lodged a case against BJP MLA, Raj Kishore Kesri, and his aide Bipin Rai for repeatedly raping her. She was forced to retract her statement after repeated pressure that her young daugter and son would be lifted. It was because of this reason that she decided to get rid of the MLA, Rupam said after stabbing him to death. Now that she is under arrest the big question the women are asking is as to why no one has till date dared to touch Bipin even two days after the chief minister Nitish Kumar recommended for the CBI inquiry.
How much powerful this aide of an MLA is that the state government is still feeling hesitant in arresting him, asks Kanchan Bala, a leading female activist, while talking to BiharTimes.com. Or is it that the BJP people fear that he would spill the beans. Nilu, other activist said that if a lowly aide of now late MLA can be so powerful how much influence a minister in the Nitish Kumar cabinet can exert on police can only be imagined.
Anyway the state government’s reluctance to arrest Bipin and instead go for witch-hunting of the journalist, Navlesh Pathak, is causing more trouble to it.
Women groups met at A N Sinha Institute on Monday afternoon to chalk out future course of action and to intensify the stir.
Meanwhile, the All India Students Association, the students’ wing of the CPI ML took to streets in protest against the entire episode. They demanded immediate resignation of the deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi for calling Rupam a blackmailer and even sought release of Navlesh.
Rupam’s mother too has repeatedly been demanding arrested of Bipin.
