Now Rupam’s lawyer fear threat on his life, seeks police protection

Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said that the police would conduct an impartial investigation into the BJP MLA murder case, Dinesh Kumar, the lawyer of Rupam, wrote letters to the Director General of Police, the Registrar General of Patna High Court and the Chairman of the State Human Rights Commission, alleging that his life too is in danger and security be provided to him with immediate effect.

The lawyer’s letter sent shock waves as those spearheading the agitation against the state government over the whole episode which led to the murder of Raj Kumar Kesri have repeatedly been accusing it of protecting the real culprits. They are repeatedly demanding release of journalist, Navlesh Pathak, who first broke the story last year and arrest of Bipin Rai, one of the accused in Rupan murder case.
Meanwhile, defending the state government’s move to recommend for the CBI probe the chief minister Nitish Kumar said that he has no doubt over the capability of Bihar police. They would have done an equally good job and would have conducted impartial investigations in the case, as the CBI will do. But then there were many demands from different sectors about the case being handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation. The case needs proper investigation from all angles, he added.
