          New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) The National Human Rights Commission   (NHRC) has issued notice to the railway board over an incident in which a couple   was allegedly thrown off a moving train by the train ticket examiner (TTE),   leading to the death of the man. "The commission has taken suo motu cognisance of a media report   alleging that a couple from Bihar, travelling on the Swatantra Senani Express,   was thrown off the train by the TTE Jan 5, 2011," said an NHRC statement issued   Wednesday. |  
  
      
	  
	  
	  The couple was travelling from Allahabad to Bhagalpur.
 "This caused the   death of the husband and the wife suffered injuries. It was reported that an FIR   was lodged with the Government Railway Police (GRP), Muzaffarpur against an   unidentified TTE," it said.
 
 The statement this was a case of serious   human rights violation.
 
 "The commission has issued a notice to the   railway board, Delhi, and has asked the chairman if any ex-gratia amount is paid   to the next of kin of the deceased, if the wife has been given proper treatment   and if any disciplinary action has been taken against the errant official," the   statement said.
 
 A notice has also been issued to the Allahabad   superintendent of police (GRP) and the Muzaffarpur superintendent of police   (GRP). The commission has asked for reports within four weeks' time.
