Rupam’s school forcibly closed by administration: Mother

Patna,(BiharTimes): As lawyers in Purnea are reportedly reluctant to take up the case of Rupam Pathak in the court the relatives of Rupam Pathak, who killed Purnea BJP MLA, Raj Kishore Kesri, are not expecting her to get a fair deal in judiciary.
Kumud Mishra, mother of Rupam, in a six-page letter to the State Women’s Commission complains about not being able to find an appropriate lawyer.

According to the letter “The constitutionally guaranteed right (right of an accused to consult and be defended by a legal practitioner of his choice) as per Article 22 (1) of the Constitution of India has been seriously compromised with in the present case as the atmosphere of fear and extreme partiality created by the ruling establishment and the local administration has resulted in a situation where people are afraid of doing pairvi (argue) on behalf of the accused. How can an impartial trial be expected?”.
The petition of Rupam’s mother also questions the failure of the administration to lodge an FIR against the people, including policemen, who merciless assaulted Rupam.
The Nitish government’s decision to ask the CBI to investigate just the murder of the MLA and not the repeated rape of Rupam is another blow to her family members.
Kumud’s petition also states that the school founded by Rupam was forcibly closed at the behest of the local administration with the active involvement of the supporters of the late BJP MLA. The petition has sought security to the accused, her family and property. The school has about 800 children.

Dear Ravi Shankar Ji,
Most of the points raised by you are quite genuine. I too go with your words, but one incidence should not dent your view towards development of Bihar, towards integrity of Bihar..
Bihar is still developing and Nitish ji is going good..So, don’t blame Nitish ji or JDU-BJP. One isolated incidence should not mar the entire good work.
People are fighting for Rupam’s cause, she will get justice. The way we got justice for Jessica Lal, Nitish katra and lot of others, Rupam will also get justice.
And how can u say that Media is not considering this news? I see the news daily in Dainik Jagran of Patna edition, u can see the related news daily on Sahara Samay.
JDU-BJP is not only best option in Bihar, but through out India. Just look at the states being governed by NDA – MP, Chhatisgarh, Gujarat etc…..
So, be patient and return to Bihar. I will also come back to Bihar very soon…after being away for more than 15 years, I will soon go back to Bihar…
There are lot of good Social Entrepreneurial activities going on in Bihar ,like – husk power systems run by Gyanesh Pandey…

See you soon in Bihar..

Mr. Ejaz,

I liked your view point of Mr. Ram Jethmalani to fight this case voluntarily for Rupam Pathak…But, I did not at all like your view on Army rule. Pakistan has been under Army rule for decades – what good has it done to the Pakistanis..or even the neighbor countries….??? It has brought Pakistan close to collapse and is even a bigger threat for India..
Army rule is definitely inferior to a Healthy Democracy. So, talk about a healthy democracy.
I too sympathize a lot for Rupam Pathak, Emotionally and Morally, she did the right thing. Still what she did was against the law of the Nation, which may not send the positive signal across the country.
But, we Biharis and Indians are still backing her. If you are not aware, just go and see in Purnea and Patna – Various Ladies Organization and other social activists are holding rallies every other day…
It’s almost sure that Rupam Pathak will not get capital punishment, may not be even Life term.
I have been and lot of other people have been voicing for her in every Social Network Site..

Let us hope that good sense and good verdict will prevail. Justice should not be delayed.
Jai Bharat, Jai Bihar.

This is sheer injustice and a lawyer must voluntarily offer to fight this case. Everyone in this country has a right to defend himself/herself.
Mr Jethmalani always offer himself for any high profile case. Sometime he should also offer his service for poor and middle class people but it may go against his party line as he and his son is in BJP.
This is a biggest blot for Bihar where even the Deputy CM is openly giving nonsense remarks like Rupam is blackmailer etc etc ….
I don’t understand why BJP is not kicking him out from the party and not demanding JPC for his own people. Any party who is in power does not care about anyone’s sensibility and it looks all political party & leaders are same. It is high time and India must be under ARMY rule for at least 10 years so that this cancerous symptom of politics can be checked and brought to control.

This is the State, who has not a single man to fight for justice to Rupam. From media to lawyers, all look to have toed to the lines of BJP and Sushil Modi. A person who should get justice from the government elected by people, is behaving like Hitler, denying justice and trying all best to choke not only Rupam and her family but all those who are trying to sympathise with her. Editor is jailed, school is closed, Rupam is jailed and knowingly her health is being neglected, CBI asked to probe only MLA murder, not Rupam's harassment, her lawyer wsa intimidated, not a single lawyer having gutts to fight her case in tha land of 10 crore insects looking like human. The shameless Nitish Kumar and company is sitting doing injustice despite of appeals, requests and continued protests by intellectuals, women associations etc. Strangely most of the Patna daily newspapers and media channels have swallowed Rupam's story, which is a huge crime in their part. Seeing this, I must say that have has grown huge respect for Bihar Times for doing fearless reporting and service for the true spirit of media.

A lady is being punished for fighting for her modesty which otherwise adminsration and government should have protected. Sinfully the same adminsitrationa nd people humiliated to this stage. Imagine if the same could have happened to the wife of Sushil Modi, what he could have done! Me and my family had voted for JDU-BJP. But witht his episode, I pledge to never vote for them if justice is not done to Rupam and expect the same kind of support from all Biharis. This is an utter hopelss case of Bihar, which has shattered my love and plan to return back to the state. I have lost respect to its politicians, Nitish Kumar and above all its people who are toothless cowards who have no gutts to fight for right cause and make sure that justice is done in this state. I don't think any sensible Bihari would like to return on any such call that Bihar has improved, a highly phoney claim. From Laloo to Nitish, all are same. UP is better than Bihar where Mayawati ensured justice to the raped girl by firing her own MLA. She has shown that she is more "Man" than Nitish Kumar.

Ravi Shankar
