Patna, Jan 24 (IANS) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Monday distanced himself from ally BJP's planned flag-hoisting in Srinagar, saying he was against it. |

Nitish Kumar said that he was not in support of the BJP's Tiranga Yatra. "I am against it. There is no justification for it" said the Janata Dal-United leader, who is running a government with the BJP in Bihar.
Nitish Kumar said he did not support the Tiranga Yatra, for hoisting the national flag in Srinagar's Lal Chowk on Jan 26, "given the kind of tension that is prevailing in the Valley, this yatra has no meaning and I don't support it".

Nitish Kumar made it clear that though the flag unfurling is an internal matter of the BJP, "I am opposed to the plan".

Nitish Kumar's stand is seen as a major setback to the BJP and exposes the rift within the ruling National Democratic Alliance on this issue.
