Nitish’s statement on Yatra sparks infighting within BJP

Patna,(BiharTimes): A war of words has started within the BJP over the hard-hitting statement made against the Bihar chief minister by the party’s Jharkhand incharge, Harendra Pratap. The latter strongly denounced Nitish Kumar for interfering in the saffron party’s internal affairs.

Pratap came down heavily on Nitish for poking his nose in the internal affairs of the BJP, when his own party never make any comment on whatever is going on within the Janata Dal (United).
Did Nitish Kumar ask the BJP when he ushered men like Taslimuddin into Janata Dal (United) or at the time of giving ticket to politicians having criminal background. Nitish should stop sermonising the BJP. If he has any objection to Rashtriya Ekta Yatra he should have talked to the BJP leadership on or before January 12, when it was flagged off and not now when the leaders and workers are getting beaten up by police in Jammu, Pratap said.
He reminded Nitish that it was he who had called Taslimuddin a ghatia person. He went on to say that he would disclose everything if he speaks anything aginst the BJP.
However, the deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi was quick to condemn what he said the “objectionable language” used by Harendra Pratap. The BJP state president, Dr C P Thakur, also took the same line and said that in alliance politics use of such words is unacceptable.
The BJP national spokesman, Shahnawaz Husain, too sounded critical on the stand of Janata Dal (United) on the issue of hoisting of national flag in Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
Sushil Modi clarified by stating that the Rashtriya Ekta Yatra is not the NDA’s programme, rather it is the BJP’s programme. There can always be an honest difference of opinion between two alliance partners.
Despite Harendra Pratap’s statement the deputy chief minister ruled out the possibility of any crisis in the alliance over the open criticism of the Yatra by Janata Dal (United).
It needs to be recalled that on Monday Nitish, while criticizing the Yatra dubbed it as meaningless. However, he made it clear that it is the internal matter of the BJP. The Janata Dal (United) national president, Sharad Yadav, too said that the Kashmir is a sensitive issue and asked the BJP to call off the Yatra as there are many other more serious issues to be discussed.
Reacting to the deputy chief minister’s statement, Harendra Pratap said he stands by what he had said and added that it is for the party’s central leadership to respond as the matter concerns the nation’s integrity.

Nitish would have avoided making statement of BJP yatra.
Every party has right to have its own agenda. How can Nitish tale away that right.
