Patna High Court asks Chancellor to clarify stand on VCs

Patna,(BiharTimes): A division bench of the Patna High Court on Tuesday asked the office of the Chancellor of Universities of Bihar, Devanand Konwar, to clear the stand on the appointment of
full-fledged Vice Chancellors.

Passing the order Justice S K Katiyar and Justice Vikas Jain asked the Chancellor, who is also the Governor of Bihar, to clarify the stand on the Public Interest Litigation filed by Janardan Singh on this issue.

Seeking court's intervention the PIL said most of the universities of Bihar are running without any permanent VC. This is causing immense hardship to the employees who are not getting their salaries. Besides, works have come to virtual stand still in all these universities, in particular Magadh University
and Veer Kuer Singh University. The VCs of these two universities had to go following a High Court order two months back.
