Ray of hopelessness for Kankarbagh residents as ‘new’ transformer trips within hours

Patna,(BiharTimes): After 11 long days they saw light in the tunnel. But that was momentary as the new transformer installed in Mahatma Gandhi Nagar in Kankerbagh tripped within a couple of hours.
Following constant efforts and reporting by a section of media Patna Electric Supply Undertaking (PESU) replaced the transformer on Tuesday morning. But after a couple of hours the replaced transformer, too, got burnt and the locality was thrown back to the dark age.

Reason: an old transformer was installed to replace the burnt one. As reported by BiharTimes repeatedly in another premier colony of Patna a transformer had to be replaced three times in six months, but Kankarbagh broke even that record.

Local residents said that they protested that the replaced transformer was very old but the officials and employees of the PESU did not pay heed.

One of the officials was quoted as saying that installing a transformer of more capacity is a lengthy process and he can not tell how long it will it take.

Needless to say Kankarbagh is one of the premier colonies of the state capital.
