Siddiqui equates BIADA land scam to 2G Spectrum scam

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui on Friday sought CBI probe into the startling revelations made by the recent CAG report, which has exposed the financial management of Nitish government.

Talking to newsmen in Patna on Friday he said the CAG report clearly mentioned that DC bills to the tune of Rs 15,000 crore were pending. He alleged that the state government submitted DC bills of Rs 14,000 crore to CAG which found only bills to the tune of Rs 6,400 crore as real.

Stating that the CAG report is shocking he cited the example of the Total Sanitation Campaign, which is a comprehensive programme of the central government. In this programme a nominal subsidy in the form of incentive is given to people living below the poverty line. The CAG report says that over Rs 26 crore was given by the Centre but over Rs 13 crore were given to those who do not belong to the BPL category.

Siddiqui also reiterated the demand for a CBI probe into the Bihar Industrial Area Developmental Authority (BIADA) land allotment scam.
Questioning the CM’s move to seek report from the Chief Secretary he asked how can a state-level officer probe the irregularities as the names of relatives of some ministers and senior officers have come up in the scam.

He equated BIADA land scam to the 2G Spectrum scam as here also the formula `First Come, First Serve' was adopted.

On the other hand JD(U) MLA from Ghosi Assembly segment Rahul Sharma on Friday denied that there was any irregularity in allotment of the BIADA plot to him.

Rahul, an MBA from Symbiosis, said he preferred to join politics to carry out the legacy of his father Jagdish Sharma. As industrialization is the only way to development, he thought of setting up an industry based on education and applied for land through the BIADA in 2010. The land was allotted to in June last year, he added.
