Janata Dal (United) MLA gets bail in torture case

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Gopalganj District Judge B N Singh on Thursday granted bail to Janata Dal (United) MLA, Ramsevak Singh, who was charged with beating up two youths and pouring petrol on their private parts in Gopalganj district on May 23 last.

The court allowed the MLA’s application for bail on the basis of a medical report, which did not confirm the allegation of petrol pouring.

Earlier Rajesh Dubey and Vishal Kumar Singh in an FIR lodged with the Uchkagaon police station had alleged that the MLA and five others had badly beat them up and even poured petrol on their private parts.

However, police said the medical report did not confirm the allegation of petrol pouring. Other injuries of the victims were also minor in nature, the police report said.

The MLA, his driver and his three bodyguards were arrested on May 24 in this connection. The two reportedly worked against the sister-in-law of the MLA in the panchayat election. She lost the poll.
