RJD launches stir, condemns Forbesganj firing

Patna,(BiharTimes): As per programme the state unit of the Rashtriya Janata Dal on Sunday organized a day-long demonstration-cum-dharna at Kargil Chowk here against rampant corruption, acute drinking water and power crisis across the state, unemployment, anomalies in BPL list and spiralling crime.

It was addressed by RJD state unit president Ramchandra Purbey, secretary general and MP Ram Kripal Yadav, leader of Opposition in State Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui and leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Ghulam Ghouse.

They alleged that no work is done without paying huge bribe, be it at the secretariat or block level. Even the complaints made at chief minister’s Janata Darbar are not disposed of. There is complete breakdown of law and order and incidents like murder, bank dacoities, kidnapping and rape were being reported from across the state.

They charged the Nitish Kumar government with creating media hype over development of the state through advertisements.

The RJD leaders also condemned the police firing at Forbesganj in Araria district, in which five persons were killed. An RJD team would visit the spot and submit its report to state human rights commission and governor.

Earlier, a large number of RJD workers led by Patna RJD unit president Deomuni Yadav took out a march from party office and after passing through Income-Tax roundabout, Frazer Road Crossing and Patna Radio Station and reached Kargil Chowk where they sat on day-long dharna.
It needs to be recalled that the RJD last month decided to break its six-month long silence and chose June 5, the Total Revolution anniversary, to launch the stir against the state government.
