Cabinet to take decision on judicial probe
into Forbesganj incident

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Monday that thestate government had decided to order a judicial probe into the police firing at Forbesganj in Araria district which led to the death of at least five people belonging to minority community on Friday.

Talking to newspersons on the sidelines of the Janata Darbar he said that the Patna high court would be approached to name a judge in this regard. He said that a formal decision would be taken at the cabinet meeting on Tuesday.

According to sources Araria SP Garima Mallick has been indicted in the administrative inquiry report for her failure to stop a homeguard personnel from stomping on the body of an injured person, who subsequently succumbed to injuries. The SP, according to the TV footage, was very much present near the spot and she did nothing to check the brutality.

Nitish also said that he had recommended a CBI investigation into the death of Dr Bhudeo Singh in Gopalganj jail late last month.

Meanwhile, Governor Devanand Konwar on Monday summoned the chief secretaryAnup Mukherjee and DGP Neelmani,to Raj Bhawan to seek report on
Forbesganj incident.
