Agitating Class XII students to undertake fast-unto-death

Patna,(BiharTimes): Even as record 99.51 per cent students of Patna Zone passed the CBSE Class-X exams on Friday, the affected students of Class-XII have decided to go on fast unto death from June 13. They are demanding that their evaluation be re-conducted.
A total of 14 students led by RJD leader Arun Kumar Singh, will sit on a fast unto death at the CBSE Patna Zone office here.

The students have been agitating ever since the result was announced at the end of the last month. They also burned the effigies of Union Human Resources Development Minister Kapil Sibal during the agitation.


There is a general complaints that students, who have even cracked IIT and AIEEE have failed in one or more subjects. Some students have got zero marks even though they had got good marks in the project work.


The RJD leader said that the students would move High Court if no effort was made to fulfil their demands. Parents, school teachers and other students would join the protest agitation on June 13 morning.

Meanwhile, 89,893 students out of total 90,513, who had taken the examination for Class-X held across 586 schools in Bihar and Jharkhand in March have passed. Only 620 students have got compartments in the examination. A total of 99.6% girls have passed the examination while 99.4% boys have cleared it. Results for the entire country were declared on June 4.

The Class-X results, which were declared on Friday, were in total contrast to Class-XII results where complaints of large number of discrepancies have come up.
