Patna,(BiharTimes): Several leaders of the Bihar unit of the Bharatiya
Janata Party on Saturday strongly criticised the statement given by
film director Mahesh Bhatt on the police high-handedness in
Forbesganj, which led to the death of half a dozen people,
including a seven month old girl and a pregnant woman. |
The incident attracted widespread condemnation
following a TV footage showing a homeguard jawan, in
presence of senior officers, stomping on an injured
youth, who succumbed to his wounds.
Mahesh Bhatt, along with NGO Anhad's Shabnam Hashmi, addressed
a Press conference in Patna on Friday on the police brutality on the
villagers of Bhajanpur village in Forbesganj sub-division of Araria district.
They based their assessment on the basis of the on the spot study
of Anhad. Several relatives of the victims were also present
during the Press conference.
But some BJP leaders reacted to Mahesh Bhatt's observations on the
incident .
The vice president of the Bihar BJP Lal Babu Prasad, state secretary
Surajnandan Mehta, state spokesmen, Prem Ranjan Patel,
(MLA) and Sudhir Kumar Sharma accused Bhatt
of having anti-Bihari mindset. They flayed the criticism of
deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi by Bhatt and
others at the Press Conference.
Bhatt on Friday said that he expected that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar would do justice and would not allow the state to acquire the image of Gujarat.
He called on the Nitish government to
take action against the culprits
involved in Forbesganj police firing.
Shabnam Hashmi regretted that
action against only one police man
had so far been taken and no
compensation had been paid
to the victims of the police firing

It is not strange to see BJP flaying Mahesh Bhatt as it is one of the tool of a Fascist organization NOT to allow anyone to criticize . BJP wants to keep the mouth shut and let all the blood bath happens in the state. Nitish Kumar must take a note of it as he is playing in the lap of BJP and this can hugely damage his own personality , his government and party. This is a dangerous development taking place in BIHAR and a if non Bihari like Mahesh Bhatt is criticizing it then he is branded as anti Bihari. If a Bihari is not taking its note and condemning it then who will come to the rescue of Bihar or should the whole Inida allow BJP to continue this blood bath in the name of administration???????????????????????????
