Maoists torch two trucks in Bihar

Patna, June 17 (IANS) Maoists torched two trucks early Friday in Bihar's Gaya district during a 24-hour shutdown called by them to protest the arrest of one of their top leaders, police said.
According to police, armed rebels forcibly stopped two trucks, dragged out the drivers and set the vehicles ablaze. They also shot at one of the drivers who is currently at a hospital.

Maoists had Thursday set ablaze a portion of the Nadaul railway station in Jehanabad district and blown up six mobile phone towers in Gaya and Aurangabad districts.

They are protesting the arrest of Jagdish Yadav alias Jagdish Master, politburo member of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoist). He was arrested June 12 from Gaya.
