Shakeel to look after Bengal affairs, Kaiser on way out

Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Union Minister of state for Home Affairs and ex-MP from Madhubani, Dr Shakeel Ahmad, has been appointed as the Congress party’s incharge of West Bengal affairs while the party also replaced the Bihar incharge of the party Mukul Wasnik. Reports are doing the rounds that the BPCC chief Chaudhary Mahboob Ali Kaiser is on way out.

The party high comman on Friday replaced K Keshav Rao with Shakeel as the incharge of the election bound West Bengal. The latter is the party’s national spokesman.

Rao, who is the Congress party’s national general secretary and party MP, will now be incharge of trouble-torn Andhra Pradesh, his home state. Rao is considered soft towards the Telengana movement, therefore, the leadership was not pleased with him.

Kaiser’s removal is imminent after the disastrous defeat of the party in Bihar.
