Patna,(BiharTimes): Retired IAS officer of 1973 batch Umesh Narayan Panjiar has been appointed the chairman of Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC).

Governor Devanand Konwar on Thursday administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at the Raj Bhavan here.
Panjiar retired as secretary, Union ministry of water resources on October 31, last year. He had served as the Home Secretary of Bihar before moving to the Centre, where he had served as joint secretary, ministry of non-conventional energy, DG, National Productivity Council, additional secretary, ministry of power, and secretary, border management, ministry of home affairs.
