Tainted Jharkhand bureaucrat shunted out

Ranchi, March 15 (IANS) After around two weeks of protests by opposition parties in the state assembly, the Jharkhand government Tuesday removed scam-tainted Chief Secretary A.K. Singh, officials said.
He has been replaced by Development Commissioner S.K. Choudhary.

Singh, a 1977-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer, is accused of financial irregularities during his tenure as the head of Bihar Finance Corporation prior to the formation of Jharkhand in 2000.
