Bihar govt to order probe into irregularities in BISCOMAUN

.Patna,(BiharTimes): The state government has assured that it would order an investigation by the State Vigilance Bureau into widespread irregularities in allotment of coal and rice in the Bihar State Cooperative Marketing Union Limited (BISCOMAUN).
This was disclosed by Cooperative Minister Ramadhar Singh while replying to a question by Vinay Kumar Singh (BJP) in the state Assembly on Thursday.

The minister conceded that there were complaints of large-scale irregularities in allocation of coal to agencies which were non-existent. He said the Director (Industry) had in 2001 and 2006 complained about the irregularities and later, inquiries were ordered.

The minister told the House that punitive action would be taken against the guilty officials after the thorough inquiry. He also accepted the demand by the BJP member for a House Committee to probe alleged swindling of funds worth Rs one crore provided by BISCOMAUN to a Rohtas-based cooperative firm for purchase of rice between 2007 and2008.
