Two arrested for sending threatening message to woman JD(U) MP

Patna,(BiharTimes): Samastipur Police on Wednesday arrested Vijay Mahto and Gaya Mahto for allegedly sending a threatening text message to the Janata Dal (United) MP from Ujiyarpur, Ashwamegh Devi, on Tuesday.

The message was sent in Hindi at around 9:00 AM on Tuesday from the number 8051403479. Incidentally both of them are the neighbours of the MP. The phone belongs to Vijay, who asked Gaya to write down the message and sent it to the member of Parliament.

The message threatened that the MP and her family members would be eliminated. The MP denied that she had any personal animosity with anyone, but she had only political rivalry. She had apprised the SP of the message on Tuesday.

It needs to be recalled that on March 25 the state health minister, Ashwini Choubey, received a text message that said he would be bumped off in 48 hours if he did not cough up Rs 20 lakh.

Later police found that the call was made by an unsuccessful filmmaker Sunil Kumar Rai, who wanted to get rid of his girlfriend.

Sunil, as reported, had also threatened Munger deputy inspector-general of police, Khagaria superintendent of police and the district commissioner of Munger.

In April last RJD MLA from Jagdishpur in Bhojpur district Dinesh Kumar Singh received a text message threatening to kill him

Later the police discovered that a woman, Kanchan Devi, had done the deed to get rid of her daughter’s boyfriend.
