Lalu, Raghuvansh summoned in chopper landing case

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Additional District Judge (VII), Muzaffarpur, Choudhary Vijendra Kumar Roy, on Thursday asked former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and former Union Rural Development Minister, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, to appear before the court on July 4 in connection with a complaint against them for landing their helicopter on National Highway-28 at Manihari in Muzaffarpur district without authoritative permission on August 1, 2007.

The court order came after hearing a revision petition filed by advocate Sudhir Kumar Ojha.

The petitioners had charged both with landing the helicopter on the National Highway during the aerial survey of floods on August 1, 2007 without prior permission from the district authorities.

According to the petition the landing of the chopper led to commotion and created law and order problems because of a stampede-like situation created by locals who had taken shelter on the road because of floods.
