Nitish urged to dismiss an absconder minister from cabinet

Patna,(BiharTimes): Leader of the opposition in Bihar Legislative Assembly Abdul Bari Siddiqui and RJD leader in the Bihar Legislative Council, Ghulam Ghouse, on Tuesday asked Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to dismiss Cooperative Minister Ramadhar Singh, an alleged absconder for the last 16 years, within 24 hours.

It needs to be recalled that a case was registered against Ramadhar Singh for rendering a communal speech in Aurangabad district in 1992.

He was declared an absconder by a court in May 1995 after he repeatedly failed to appear before it in connection with a case registered against him by Aurangabad district administration on December 17, 1992, that is 11 days after the demolition of Babri Masjid, for giving an inflammatory and communal speech against Muslims.

Talking to reporters Siddiqui said the court had also ordered attachment of the Ramadhar's properties in 1995 and issued a non-bailable warrant against him in the same case.Singh has three more cases registered against him between 2003 and 2005 under the ST/SC Atrocities Act.

The RJD leaders alleged that Ramadhar had concealed the cases against him in the
affidavit that he furnished while filing nomination from Aurangabad Assembly seat in 2010 polls that he won on the BJP ticket.

Siddiqui, who has written a letter to the chief minister in this regard, said that Nitish always claimed that he is a believer in probity and transparency in public life and stands for secular politics; therefore, he should not waste a single minute and sack the absconder minister.

Siddiqui said he would submit a memorandum to Governor Devanand Konward seeking the removal of the minister.

It was only on Monday last that Ramadhar Singh, who is also a senior BJP leader, was seen sitting besides the Chief Minister at the Janata Darbar.
