Super-30 to disclose names two days before to IIT results

Patna,(BiharTimes): Anand Kumar of Super 30 fame on Friday announced that he would disclose the names of the aspirants two days before the IIT results are out. The results are to be announced on May 25.

Anand is the owner of a coaching institute named after famous mathematician, Ramanujan. However, as a part of philanthropic work he also coaches 30 poor and downtrodden students for IIT every year. They are also provided free lodging and fooding facilities.

His announcement regarding the disclosure of names came after a section of media repeatedly accused him of manipulation.

As he used to announce the names of the 30 successful candidates once the IIT results are declared there is no dearth of people in the media and coaching world who allege that several successful students of his coaching institute are included in the list of the Super-30 after the results are declared and the names of the failed students deleted from its original list.

This suspicion was raised after repeated success of Super-30 since 2003. In the earlier years between 22 and 26 students had been cracking IIT-JEE, but for the last few years it is cent per cent success, that is 30 out of 30.

But on Friday Anand made it amply clear that there is nothing fishy about the results.

His announcement came at a book release function of Prabhat Prakashan where he shared dais with the chief minister Nitish Kumar.

It was only after a section of media asked the question that he replied that he had decided to
declare the name of 30 students two days prior to the IIT results.

He said that the day he declares the names everybody would be forced to believe the truth.
He alleged that there are a few who wanted to spoil his coaching institute..

In the past Anand had said that he did not want to disclose the names because he fear abduction of his successful candidates. He said that such incident did happen in 2007.
