Deputy CM seeks governor's assent on 14 Bills

Patna, (BiharTimes): Almost two months after the conclusion of the Budget session of the Bihar Assembly Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Tuesday urged Governor Devanand Konwar to give his assent to 14 new Bills adopted by the state legislature without any delay.


Four of them are Finance Bills and it should get immedidate nod as the state was facing the threat of losing performance grants of Rs 209 crore from the Centre.

Talking to newsmen Modi, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said this delay was also preventing the state government from realising profession tax worth Rs 100 crore.

It needs to be recalled that the Budget Session ended on the last day of March 2011.
