Nitish raises special status issue on eve of Plan panel meet

Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar claimed that the special category status would help attract private investment in Bihar and reduce the burden on the state.

Talking to newsmen on Saturday, two days before the Regional Conference of the Planning Commission, he said that more and more investment is necessary for carrying forward the development
of the state.

He said that apart from the special status his government would seek an additional grant of Rs 4,000 crore per annum for the state during the
Regional Conference to be held in Patna on Monday.

Nitish said he would also demand a special port for Bihar and reiterated that he would also press for giving 50 per cent share of the electricity from the National Thermal Power Corporation plants
in the state.
