Wide gap between girls, boys in CBSE Plus-II performance

Patna,(BiharTimes): Girls have surpassed boys by a wide margin of 15% in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class-XII results for Patna Zone, which were declared here on Friday.


While the pass percentage for girls is 81.10%, that of boys is just 66.50%. The overall pass percentage this year is 71.20 in Patna Zone.

In all 62,541 students appeared at 158 centres in Bihar and Jharkhand, which fall in the newly-created Patna Zone. Of this 42,565 were boys and 19,976 girls.
It is for the first time that Patna Zone, which oversees CBSE schools in Bihar and Jharkhand, declared results on its own. The Patna Zone was inaugurated a few years back.
Patna-based Gyan Niketan has cent per cent results. Eight students have scored above 90% marks, 61 above 80% and 166 above 60 %.
All the 89 students of Delhi Public School, Patna, passed the examination while 186 out of 191 girls of Notre Dame Academy (NDA) finally graduated from the school to enter the college life. All the six girls failed in Mathematics.
In all 571 out of 601 students from Patna Central School passed, thus the pass percentage is 95.
The pass percentage of Baldwin Academy is 91.5. Two-hundred ninety out of 388 students got more than 60% marks.
Five out of 158 students of Krishna Niketan, got compartmental.
CBSE will conduct compartmental examinations on July 16 for the failed students. They can get their answer papers re-evaluated by filling in a form for the purpose within 21 days from the date of result. The forms can also be filled online on the CBSE website.
The charge for manual form is Rs 200 and the result will be made available within 15 to 20 days; for online form Rs 300 is charged and the result is available in five days.
