Patna,(BiharTimes): The Time magazine has in its November 7, 2011 issue extensively covered Nitish Kumar’s six year achievement as the chief minister of Bihar. The magazine under the section India carries a story titled “How one man cleaned up its dirtiest state” gives details on how Nitish’s concept of good governance, rise in state’s growth rate and improvement in law and order helped Bihar changed it image. The report has been published in the Europe, Asia and South Pacific editions of the magazine. It also highlighted the concept of weekly Janata Darbar of the chief minister.

 | Time magazine, especially its Asia edition, has off and on been covering Bihar. Last year it honoured Super 30 with the Best of Asia 2010 award. Before that, the then Patna District Magistrate Gautam Goswami was honoured as the Time magazine’s Young Asian Achiever Award in 2005 for carrying out flood relief work in 2004. However, the choice went horribly wrong and Goswami was caught in flood scam months later. He in fact died as a broken man. While the ruling NDA is interpreting this story as a big image boost-up the opposition is critical of what they say magazine’s shallow and partisan reporting. RJD general secretary Ram Kripal Yadav dubbed the chief minister as a great manipulator and said all this is the result of media management quality of Nitish Kumar.
Ram Kripal said that during Nitish’s leadership the state had seen the worst governance as the level of corruption had gone up and the state is facing financial crisis. The education system had deteriorated in government schools where English is being taught by teachers who cannot write their names in English.
How can the present state government be credited for the roads construction project of the Central government? the opposition leaders asked. The magazine praised Nitish for laying down 33,000 km of roads in Bihar in the last six years. But the opposition said that most of these roads are either the National Highways, part of Golden Quadrilateral and East-West Corridor and rural roads built under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojaya,  This shows the quality of reporting of Time magazine, they added.
However, former RJD leader-turn-present minister, Shyam Rajak, is all praise for the magazine for carrying story on the present government.

at the time of lalu..this state had a bad image..and now..it gonna improved .
So if one says that Nitish kumar is doing wrong..it means that he/she doesnt have mind to analayse the things.
The 11.04% growth rate of Bihar shows that how much we Biharis are going to increase our reputation..infront of the world..
Its just the beginining ...who know one time will come when except Time ..Forbes like magzine would also come for the Bihar progress coverage!!!
