China donates one million dollar for Nalanda International University

Patna,(BiharTimes): On the day when former President A P J Abdul Kalam expressed his intention to teach in the Nalanda International University, China gave a cheque of one million dollar for building a Chinese-type library there. This is the first donation from the neighbouring country for this project.

Reports from New Delhi said Chinese Ambassador to India Zhang Yan formally handed over the cheque to Vice Chancellor-designate of the University Gopa Sabharwal. Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao made this promise during his visit to India last December.

The event came on a day when the new logo of the proposed institution - that represents Asian interconnectivity and harmony between man and nature - was unveiled.
