Nagrik Pahal to come out with its own version of Lokayukta Bill

Patna,(BiharTimes): Almost on the line of Team Anna Bhrastacharya Ke Virudh Nagrik Pahal, (Citizens’ Initiative Against Corruption), a forum floated against The Bihar Lokayukta Bill 2011, has decided to submit a copy of its own draft Bill to the deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi on November 21.

At the meeting held in Janshakti Bhawan on Thursday it was announced by the Convenor of the Pahal, Satya Narain Madan, that “we will take time from the deputy chief minister as he is the head of three-member ministerial committee.”

The Citizens’ Initiative group has also decided to stage a march on December 2, that is on the opening day of the Winter Session of the Assembly, to express their opposition to the Bihar Lokayukta Bill, which is nothing more than the replica of the Lokpal Bill of the Centre.

The Pahal came into existence after a series of three meetings held in this regard in the last five days, Madah told BiharTimes.

Prominent among those who attended these meetings are Prof Nawal Kishore Chaudhary, Basant Chaudhary, (lawyer), women rights activist Kanchan Bala, Manish Ranjan (lawyer), academics like M N Karna and A K P Yadav, activists like C P Singh, Mahendra Yadav, Manhar Krishna ‘Atul’, Irshad-ul-Haque (Journalist),and others.
