Patna Central goes without SP as Lande shifted out to Garima’s Araria

Patna,(BiharTimes): In a small but significant change made by the state government the Superintendent of Police (Patna Central), Shivdeep Lande, was on Tuesday transferred to far-off Araria within nine months of his posting to the state capital.

The Araria SP, Garima Malik, who was under attack from various quarters, human rights groups and National Minority Commission after the June 3 police firing at Bhajanpur village in Forbesganj sub-division, has now been made Senior Superintendent of Police, Darbhanga. Four people, including a pregnant woman and an infant was killed in that firing.

Incidentally, Lande was SP (Traffic) too before being transferred. So now two posts are vacant in the state capital.

The Senior Superintendent of Police of Darbhanga Vikas Vaibhav was sent on central deputation.

Lande’s sudden transfer has come as a surprise so is the promotion of a sort for Garima from a small district to big one.

Lande was cracking down on various criminal gangs and mafia and trying to brought law and order back under control.

Top police sources confirmed that Lande’s unceremonious exit had something to do with raids on the flourishing racket of counterfeit products. Some of those involved in the business have right political connection.

The government was in such a hurry that it had no time to name his replacement for the two very significant posts.
