Right connection helped boys who assaulted girl get bail

Patna,(BiharTimes): The three boys involved in assaulting a girl of an engineering college of Patna easily got bail late on Saturday evening, that is, the very day they committed the crime. If the police sources is to be believed the boys managed to jump the bail as the main accused, Ashish, is the son of a senior government officer.

Though Ashish is the class friend of the girl and was the main accused he managed to escape from the scene on Saturday afternoon after thrashing the girl in full public view. However, his two friends who came to help him––Ashutosh Kumar and Chandan Kumar––were arrested from the spot by none else but by the team of Quick Mobile Service from near Hartali More.

Ashish was also arrested later in the day, but only to be released later, along with two of his friends, after signing a personal bail bond worth Rs 5,000 each.

Sources said since granting of bail is a legal issue the police lodged a very weak case against the boys.

Sources said that the police are now projecting the case in such a way which might put the victim, that is the girl, in the dock instead of her assaulters.

Since Ashish is the son of a senior government official the police bosses started getting phone calls as soon as the boys were brought to the police station.
