JD(U) MP calls for bifurcation of Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): Janata Dal (United) Lok Sabha MP from Muzaffarpur Captain Jai Narayan Nishad on Monday requested the chief minister Nitish Kumar to get a resolution passed by the State Legislative Assembly seeking bifurcation of the state into north and south Bihar.

In a letter addressed to the chief minister Nishad reminded him of his statement supporting the resolution passed by the UP state Assembly seeking division of UP into four parts. He said that Nitish had supported the move saying a state should have 100 Assembly seats.

He said that after the bifurcation north Bihar would have 127 Assembly seats with Muzaffarpur as its capital while south Bihar would have the remaining 116 seats.
