Week later eve-teaser still at large

Patna,(BiharTimes): A week has passed since a Magadh Mahila College girl was molested and her father assaulted by two youths, one of them son of a Bihar Military Police official, yet no arrest has been made in this connection.

Now reports said that the Patna Police would send a letter to the BMP commandant for initiating disciplinary action against an ASI, whose son Ravi Ranjan was involved in eve-teasing at Income Tax roundabout on October 13.

Though the police have released the sketches of the two youths and later received several calls identifying the youths as Pintu Singh and Ravi Ranjan, residents of Polson at Digha and Birla Colony in Phulwarisharif respectively.

Incidentally, Ranjan was earlier indentified as Ravi Prakash.

Disciplinary action has been sought by Patna Police against the BMP ASI as he lied to the police that his son, who was allegedly involved in eve-teasing, was studying at Delhi. Secondly, the ASI and his elder son Rakesh had appeared before the police with the document of the seized motorcycle with number plate of police on the same evening. Rakesh had initially impersonated his younger brother, Ranjan.

According to Patna Central SP Shivdeep Lande Pintu Singh on Tuesday reached the Patna Civil Court to surrender. But he was told in the court by some lawyers that his name did not figure in the FIR, so how can he surrender? He, however, escaped before the police reached the court premises.

The SP said that a police team carried out raid at Ranjan's house in Birla Colony. Though he was not present in the house, his wife was there.
