Decomposed body of priest found in Patna temple

Patna,(BiharTimes): A badly decomposed body, infested with insects, was found in Udasin Math Hanuman Temple in Kurji Pul locality under Digha Police Station on Thursday. Later the body was identified to be that of a priest, Tarun Das, 45.


According to local residents they felt a foul smell coming out from the temple premises a day after the Diwali. They found the decomposed body of the priest inside a room.
City SP, Central, Shivdeep Lande along with DSP (Law & Order) L M Sharma reached the spot.
The Math was set up in 1956. Ramdas Rai was the real caretaker and Mahant of the Math, but he died about two months ago.
The SP said that there is some dispute over the Math property and the police are looking into the matter. The body had been sent to PMCH for autopsy.
Heera Das, a priest of Devi Temple, Digha Math, had deputed Tarun Das as the priest of Udasin Math Hanuman Temple after the death of Rai.
