Google’s Internet Bus arrives in Bihar

Patna,(BiharTimes): With the view to creating awareness and interest among more and more people Google introduced an internet bus, which is travelling through many parts of the country.The bus arrived in Patna on Tuesday from where it will proceed to Gaya, Nalanda, Bhojpur, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Saran and Purnia districts in the next 40 days.



According Google India Managing Director (R&D) Peeyush Ranjan the journey of the internet bus began from Tamil Nadu in February 2009.


He said that the internet has positively touched the lives of more than 100 million people in India. It has been very exciting to see people from different section of the society visiting the bus and learning about what internet could do for them.


Ranjan further said that the bus has visited 10 states covering more than 2,000 locations and touching more than 56 lakhs people in 120 towns.


He said as per the surveys more than 15 lakh people have gone online for the first time after visiting the bus.


The bus will showcase informative contents in English and Hindi in addition to the basic familiarization on using services related to information, entertainment, education and communication. The bus has five workstations and four video stations for public utilization. The bus will also showcase how the internet services could be used on the mobile.
