Patna High Court cancels appointment of 16 principals of TMBU

Patna,(BiharTimes): Justice Mridula Mishra of the Patna High Court, on Thursday cancelled the appointment of 16 principals in different colleges of Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University.
The ruling came following a PIL filed by Navin Kumar, which challenged the appointment of principals. The court cancelled the notification in this regard on the ground that the appointments were not made as per prescribed rules, leading to undeserving candidates occupying the posts.

The PIL had said that a proper selection committee was not constituted for making these appointments, the reservation policy was not followed and marks were allotted in a haphazard manner and.
In another judgement Justice Navniti Prasad Singh of the Patna High Court on Thursday withheld the salary of Vice Chancellor, registrar and finance officer of L N Mithila University, Darbhanga.
The Court order came while hearing a contempt petition filed by Jawahar Prasad Singh and others.

The bench stayed withdrawal of salary by these officers, saying despite repeated directive by the Court to ensure payment of pending salary and other retirement benefits to the teachers and employees of the said university, they did not comply with it.
