Women, children brutally thrashed in Nalanda village

Patna,(BiharTimes): Several people, mostly women and children were brutally thrashed outside Noorsarai police station of Nalanda district when they were protesting against the disappearance of a woman of Chandasi village.

As Nalanda happens to be the home district of chief minister Nitish Kumar––who reportedly watched the police barbarity on television––several policemen involved in the incident were put under suspension and action is likely against some more.

The incident took place when the DIG Vineet Vinayak and SP Jeetendra Rana reached the police station to inquire about the missing woman. Local villagers suspect the hands of a policeman in it.
Reports said that chief minister himself asked ADG (Headquarters) Rajvardhan Sharma to suspend the policemen who went berserk.

According to Sharma prima facie it appears that excessive police action was taken without any reason. Some of the women were even chased and badly thrashed.

At Chandasi village, Rambalak Prasad, night guard of a school, had filed an FIR stating that his wife Sushma Kumari was abducted by the relatives of an ASI, Ashok Singh, on August 26 but the ASI refused to look into his complaint, saying she might have been murdered. Singh allegedly had illicit relationship with Prasad’s sister and the couple had been opposing it.

Prasad met Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Janata Darbar recently and made complaint about the case.
The ASI has already been suspended.
