Nitish refuses to flay Gujarat CM

Patna,(BiharTimes): In a surprise development Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday refused to criticize his Gujarat counterpart Narendra Modi’s fast and added that the BJP had not officially declared anyone as the candidate for the post of the Prime Minister.

Talking to mediapersons on the sidelines of Monday’s Janata Darbar he took a U-turn from what his party general secretary, Shivanand Tiwary, and national president, Sharad Yadav, said one and two days back. Nitish said that it would be improper for the Janata Dal (United) to react to any report. The Janata Dal (United) is an ally of the BJP and would be informed the moment the decision in this regard is taken.

Nitish said that his party would react only when the BJP formally takes any decision on the prime ministerial candidate.

The Bihar chief minister took such a soft stand notwithstanding the fact that former BJP national president Venkaiah Naidu termed Modi as a national and international hero and even declared him as the candidate for the post of PM.

Nitish also refused to flay Narendra Modi’s fast by stating that every individual, political leader and chief minister had the freedom to undertake any programme.

Whatever be Nitish’s stand Tiwary on Sunday blasted Modi by stating that he is the person who failed to follow Rajdharm. When he can not do justice with five crore people of the state how would he able to deliver justice to 125 crore people of the country, he had said.

Even Sharad Yadav, though himself an NDA convernor, two days ago, ridiculed Modi’s fast by stating that 77 per cent of the people of India survive on less than Rs 20 a day and they sleep without any proper meal.
