Violence erupts in Chandi as students clash over cricket match
Patna,(BiharTimes): Large scale violence broke out in Chandi block of Nalanda district on Monday following clashes between two groups of students over a cricket match.
According to reports a cricket match was going on between the students of Engineering College of Chandi and Magadh University. After a clash the police reportedly arrested two students of Engineering College. This angered the students of this college and they attacked the police station. The rampaging student also destroyed the property of two local colleges, attacked shops and beat up people.
The situation turned ugly as the police of the chief minister’s home district remained mute spectators. It was only after the arrival of the Superintendent of Police that they swung into action and brought the situation under control.
Many people sustained injuries and several students were arrested.
