Bihar MLCs submit fake bills to claim travel allowance

Patna,(BiharTimes): Members of the Bihar Legislative Council, especially of the ruling National Democratic Alliance, have submitted fake bills to claim travel allowance of lakhs of rupees from 2006 to 2011.

According to reports fake bills were detected by audit officials of the principal accountant general’s office of Bihar. These MLCs claimed reimbursements by showing visits to far-off places on the same date. They showed visits to the same places, for example, Hyderabad, Secundarabad, Bengaluru, New Delhi and other places in the country on the same date.

Some ruling party MLCs have wrongly mentioned the distance of the destination travelled by road to claim higher reimbursement. The auditors have questioned how the reimbursement were paid to them by the accounts department of the Council.
