Teachers with begging bowl marched on streets during Sewa Yatra

Patna,(BiharTimes): A large number of para-teachers, who have not got their salaries for the last years marched with begging bowl in Motihari on the second day of the chief minister Nitish Kumar’s Sewa Yatra of East Champaran district on Saturday.

Even as the chief minister was visiting different parts of the district the teachers raised slogans and begged on the streets. They said that while Nitish Kumar is lavishly spending crores of rupees on Sewa Yatra he has no money to pay to them.

The teachers opposed two types of payment for the same work. “While one teacher is drawing Rs 36,000 per month the other is getting Rs 6,000. What type of system is this?” one of them asked.

The teachers alleged that two of their colleagues died because they could not get their salary.

Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar, while speaking in Sugauli Sugar Mill reiterated that the corrupt officials and employees would not be spared. When the issue of non- payment of salary to teachers was raised here he assured that he would certainly ensure early fulfilment of their demands. After Sugauli he moved to Raxaul.
