Bihar Congress launches Pol Khol Yatra

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Congress on Friday launched a Pol Khol Yatra in Bihar to expose Nitish Kumar government and highlight the scams and misgovernance in the state. It would cover all the 38 districts in Bihar.
The Congress Working Committee member and in-charge of party state affairs Gulchain Singh Charak flagged off the Yatra from Shaheed Samarak. He said during the campaign, party leaders would create awareness among the people about the alleged corruption and scams, loot and misappropriation of funds meant for development schemes highlighted by the recent CAG report.

He also demanded a CBI probe into alleged misappropriation and embezzlement of public money in Bihar highlighted by the CAG.

The state Congress chief, Chaudhary Mebhoob Ali Qaiser, said that the Nitish government is surviving only on the basis of propaganda and advertisements. “We are not saying that the Nitish government is corrupt. It is the CAG which has said so.”

Speaking on the occasion the state Youth Congress president Lalan Kumar said a Youth Congress delegation would petition Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and Governor Devanand Konwar to seek a CBI probe into the CAG report for the period ending on March 31, 2011.

He described the CAG report highlighting Rs 22,500 crore irregularities involving non-reconcliation of the Abstract Bill and Detailed Contingent Bill bills, as the mother of all scams.

He said this scam is many times bigger than the fodder scam during Lalu Prasad’s regime. Qaiser and Lalan Kumar both embarked on the Yatra.

Political observers feel that this yatra is nothing but to resurrect party before parliamentary election 2014.

The Yatra was flagged off after paying homage to seven martyrs at the Shaheed Samarak.
