The alleged victims denied any rape before a magistrate while recording their statements under Section 164 of IPC. In her statement before the magistrate, one of the complainants said her friend, the other complainant, asked her to accompany her to a lodge. On reaching there, she went upstairs. When the first girl did not return for half-an-hour, she also went upstairs and found that Roshan, Lallu Singh and Santosh were trying to outrage the modesty of her friend. Seeing her there they also tried to drag her inside the room, but she fled from the spot.

The second girl said that she went to the lodge on her own, as she was called by Roshan, brother of her boyfriend. It is there Roshan, Santosh and Lallu forcibly removed her clothes. While Roshan tried to rape her, the two others filmed the acts on their mobile phones . She further said she also fled the spot and was not raped. She also admitted that she had an affair with Roshan’s brother Gulshan.

According to Nalanda SP Nishant Kumar Tiwari medical reports of the girls also indicate that the girls were not raped as no sperm was found. He also told newsmen that the boys tried to outrage the modesty of a girl. All the culprits will be brought to the book.

Meanwhile, the main accused Roshan has been arrested by the police on Monday night itself and the remaining would be soon caught, said the SP.

He further added that the reporter who instigated the girls to create a false gang rape story has been identified and a show cause notice would be served on him.

Earlier on Monday both the 16-year old girls alleged that they were gang-raped by 7-8 boys at a lodge located near Silao Masjid on Monday.

They had said that when they reached near the lodge while going to school at Silao, some 7-8 boys dragged them inside the lodge and raped them one by one. They also filmed them and made video as well. After about two hours, the boys let them go with a threat that if they failed to turn up whenever they called them, they would show their pictures to everyone.

Both of them then went to the police station and lodged an FIR against seven persons, including Lallu Kumar, Santosh Kumar and brother of one Roshan. The girls said they had never met the boys earlier but came to know the names of three accused as they were frequently calling their names. She claimed that all the accused are residents of Silaodih locality.

Various women activists have started suspecting foul play in repeated U-turn by rape and gang-rape victims in Bihar. “How can girls, who so pin-pointedly charge youths of gang-raping them, change their versions so frequently in Bihar,” one of them asked.
