Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar BJP president Dr C P Thakur, Janata Dal (United) national spokesman, Shivanand Tiwary and Rajya MP N K Singh on Thursday met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi and requested him that Bihar be given three months time for removing the obstructions in the landing of big flights at Patna airport.

They apprised him of steps taken by Nitish Kumar government to remove obstacles threatening reduction of big flight operation from Patna airport.
According to Thakur the Prime Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that he would hold a meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh on the issue. He said the state government had started pruning trees following instructions of Airport Authority of India. Other conditions laid by DGCA and Union civil aviation ministry would also be complied with within the next three months.
Meanwhile, the Airport Authority of India said that they were “satisfied” with the steps taken to remove obstructions along the landing approach funnel of the airport.
“We are satisfied with the steps taken by the state government on removal of obstacles around Patna airport. We would soon send the corresponding report to the DGCA and ministry of civil aviation,” said G K Chaukiyal, Board Member (Operations), AAI. He was in Patna following talks between Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh and chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday.
